A few practical details about the form and what happens to your response.

How long does the survey take?
Most players finish in four to six minutes. Include the detail that helps us understand the session, and skip background that doesn't change the report.
When does the team review responses?
The team groups responses for a quarterly roadmap review. A producer's first review usually happens within ten business days after submission.
Can I save this and come back later?
This form doesn't save a draft or support save-and-resume. Please submit when you have a few minutes to finish all fields.
How is my information handled?
Responses are used by the studio team to review player experience and plan work. We don't sell responses or share them with advertisers. See the Privacy Policy for details about storage and your choices.

After you send it

What Happens After You Submit

Your report joins a real review process. Here are the steps.

  1. We receive your response

Your answers are grouped with feedback for the title and platform you named. Keep a copy of your notes if you may need to refer to them later.

  2. A producer reviews the pattern

A producer checks recurring reports against support notes and current build information. The average first review window is ten business days.

  3. The team plans the next sprint

Find published decisions and change logs in the Studio Journal. Some reports need more investigation before a change is scheduled.

Player perspective

Clear Notes Make Better Builds
“I described the matchmaking wait and the mode I was playing. The form made it easy to be specific.”
Geraldinho Varadarajan
“I play co-op most weeks, so I notice when a difficulty spike splits a group. Writing down the mission and the point where it changed gave the team something concrete to review. I like knowing responses are read on a regular schedule.”
Junyi Peón, co-op player
Why did we choose Dotabuff's survey? Because it asks about the actual session, not a vague rating. That makes it easier to explain what needs attention.

FAQ

How Can Dotabuff Expand Your Understanding of Dota 2?

Dotabuff gives players an opportunity to look beyond the final scoreboard by exploring recorded game data, examining hero-related metrics, and learning more about the patterns behind Dota 2 matches.

What Insights Can You Gain From Your Match History?

Reviewing earlier games can help you understand how your results change over time, which heroes appear most often in your matches, and where your gameplay may benefit from additional practice.

How Do Players Evaluate Hero Performance Using Statistics?

Hero profiles provide useful indicators for comparing characters across recorded games. Metrics such as win rate and pick frequency can reveal trends, although individual outcomes still depend on player skill and match circumstances.

Why Look Beyond Wins and Losses When Assessing Progress?

A victory or defeat tells only part of the story. Examining broader performance patterns can help you recognize consistent habits, evaluate your development, and identify areas that deserve more attention.

How Can Dotabuff Help You Stay Informed About Dota 2?

Exploring player activity, hero statistics, and match-related trends can provide a clearer view of the community's evolving preferences and the strategies that attract attention across different periods.

Which Statistics Matter When Exploring a Hero?

The most relevant metrics depend on your goal. Pick frequency can indicate popularity, while win rate offers a view of recorded outcomes; neither should be treated as a complete measure of a hero's strength.

Can Match Data Help Me Experiment With New Heroes?

Statistical profiles can introduce you to characters worth exploring and show how they are commonly used. Trying unfamiliar heroes in suitable games can then help you decide whether they fit your preferred approach.

What Can Players Learn From Performance Trends Over Time?

Comparing data from different periods may reveal changes in consistency, hero preferences, or overall results, helping you distinguish temporary fluctuations from patterns that appear repeatedly.

How Should I Interpret Changes in Hero Win Rates?

Win rates can shift because of balance updates, changing player preferences, and differences in the matches being recorded. Consider these factors before deciding whether a particular hero has become more effective.

Can Statistical Tools Complement Regular Dota 2 Practice?

Yes. Combining match reviews with focused practice gives you a practical way to test new ideas, work on specific weaknesses, and evaluate your progress using more than memory alone.
